HEADS!...and other stuff!

HEADS...that's what I've been drawing the whole day. I'll be doing a piece real soon that'll involve a lot of HEADS!...SCARY HEADS...and other scary stuff that will be decorated around the SCARY HEADS.

Speaking of scary heads I posted a few of them, the rest of my drawings were...meh...horrible sketches....I dun like'em very much, but I did promise an update within the day so here it is! I'll be posting more practice sketches of HEADS soon!

THE OTHER STUFF
A few drawings from last year...more of a stylish cartoony look to it.

I'll be watching the third Transformers movie this evening so yeah, I might as well make a small review once I come back. One thing you have to keep in mind with movies these days...don't expect much....you'll just disappoint yourself. Enjoy the movie for what it is...or hate it for what it is...lolz.

See you peeps soon!

I play music on the background to setup a mood. I'm able to visualize various textures during parts of a song/beat and that helps out with expressing my thoughts through paper.

Sit back, close you eyes and enjoy the visual feast which is your imagination.

Ill post something up by the end of the day. See you soon!

Get inspired! Todays featured artist is --- Brad Rigney AKA Cryptcrawler!

"what are you willing to give up?..."

LOSE TO GAIN! In my part it's gaming, especially MMORPG's (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games)....I've downgraded my habits from being a lifestyle to what is now pure entertainment and a source of inspiration to be creative. After all it's video games, cartoons, and comic books which inspired me to pursue a career as an Illustrator / Concept Artist.

Let's do it!

practice more practice more AHHHH!!!

some Cthulu'ish inspired....drawing? The Left arm's too long and the wrist looks out of place...might as well do a cleaner version of this drawing.

I know what you're thinking..."what in the hell did you do to make your paper get so fucked up?!"...I have a habit of pressing hard on paper, add constant erasures and you'll end up with drawing paper with the consistency of toilet paper. I "cut and paste " recycled paper over the damaged parts.

Alien Humanoid....thing?

PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!

Some people would like to think that drawing or illustrating is a talent. I'd like to think of it as a skill you get better with through constant practice and "love" for the craft (whatever it may be).

The sources I've used for my studies are mainly from Andrew Loomis Anatomy books. I recommend books by Burne Hogarth, Glenn Vilppu or Andrew Loomis.

Life Drawing classes (preferably with nude models) are a great way of learning form, body composition, gesture and dynamics as a whole. Much better if you can hire models yourself and organize your own figure drawing sessions.

I usually trace initially when I'm not so confident with my line placement. At the same time when you trace, your fingers and wrist will get familiar with the strokes...it's like a form of muscle memory training.

I did this Orc Turnaround with no reference to test myself  if I understood the basics of muscle placement and anatomical balance with the design. I'm quite happy with what I did here...thinking of using it as a template.
